Hello everyone, and welcome to my first ever album review! If you read the title, you know this is on
'Ao no exorcist Original soundtrack 1.'

This album has been divided into several different 'suites' which all have movements in itself. It just makes up for big  titles on your iPod, not that that is such a big problem.
The 5 different suites are:
- Exorcist Concerto
- Symphonic Suite DEVIL
- AOE Suite
- Symphonic Poem GeHeNa
- Assiah Fantasia

The Album has 18 songs in total and is completely composed by Hiroyuki Sawano.
Time for the song breakdown:

1. Exorcist Concerto First Movement:
Me & Creed
This song is a good start of the album, it really is. It's a beautiful song with nice lyrics (which I will gladly give you if you ask for it.). The English lyrics are actually sang pretty well, it's a step-up from the typical English, for sure.
I love the guitar in this song, it's a really nice riff. And the chorus has some nice effects too.. Very pretty, really. I love listening to this song, this is one of my personal favorites.

2. Exorcist Concerto Second Movement:
X
The atmosphere of this song is really mysterious and suspenseful, yet it keeps pace. It's a very nice tune, and after a while it all turns brighter and more epic too. I'm just going to re-state this now. The Atmosphere this song captures is PER.FECT. it really is. Even the ending of the song fits nicely, even if it's abrupt.
This is one of those songs that makes coloring a drawing go a lot faster  than normally. This is a tune  I don't listen to a lot, but I should do it more.

3. Exorcist Concerto Third Movement:
U & Cloud
THIS. SONG.
This is, hands down, one of my favorite songs of  this album. The riff, THAT. RIFF. From the first moment I heard it in the anime it was stuck in my head… I was so happy when I found this song on the album. This song is great. The little 'screams' in it and the voice saying 'Electronic' don't really distract all that much at all, the riff really takes over this song, and makes it extremely epic.
All I can say is: I LOVE.  LOVE. LOVE. This.

4. Exorcist Concerto Fourth Movement:
D+T
The first time I heard this I said to myself: I'm gonna like this song. And I do… the only downside is... The voices. Seriously. I don't like it, it sounds like moaning. The beat and all are freaking amazing. But the voices kind of ruin it for me. Luckily they aren't there for long.
Nice song, and it keeps you on a roll too.

5. Symphonic Suite DEVIL First Movement:
D-Evil
A very dark sounding song again, with the drums it has it also becomes overwhelming a few times. This track is also extremely epic, it really is a recurring theme. I love the transitions within the song, gives it lots of different emotions to pass over, and it really does nicely. The later middle half is very busy, but beautiful, as if you're in the middle of a fight (which I'm sure this tune is used for before). While the end sounds hopeful with the violins in it. And then it all ends with drums
A song  I just now start to love really, it can bring you inspiration if your mind is at the right place.

6. Symphonic Suite DEVIL Second Movement:
i-AM
Right of the bat, this song makes me think of D.Gray-Man. (I asked this once to a friend of mine, if it sounded alike, she said I wasn't being delusional, so that's nice) This song is very soft and lovey-dovey. With the piano as its main instrument. The song doesn't even really fit within the suite it is, it's so soft between all the darker sounding songs. Even though it has a long runtime, it won't disappoint to listen to it for a while.
This song relaxes me, it really makes me feel at home, I could listen to this for hours. It would also make a great lullaby for children.

7. Symphonic Suite DEVIL Third Movement:
eXORCiST
Another song that has real singing in it. But this time, it's German! It sounds very nice, like chanting,. This song has more of a dark church-ish feel. I like the choir, it's very nice to listen to. Around 2/3th into the song it gains more speed, which makes it sound more like a battle tune.
Very epic song, it's more mediocre for me, but that doesn't mean it isn't a good song.

8. Symphonic Suite DEVIL Fourth Movement:
sA†An
Hello daddy! Satan's theme so early on, eh? The song is very eerie, VERY, VERY eerie. The chanting voices in the background don't make it any better. It really sounds like the god of Gehenna is staring you in the face. This also is the preview music  for the anime episodes. Pretty ironic don't you think?
The song is very nice though. It's lovable really.

9. AOE Suite First Movement:
My☆
A very catchy song, I like the techno beats that are used in this. The warped voice that is singing is a nice part of the song, but as far as I know now, there are no official lyrics for the song, nor do I know what is sung. (I presume it's English though). The second half of the song starts off with a more symphonic sounding song though. It sounds beautiful, peaceful too. And after a small while, the techno beat is also back, with drums!
This is a song I really like, as I said, it's very catchy, and sometimes I'll just hum this out of nowhere, that's good.

10. AOE Suite Second Movement:
5P+3P
The first thing that comes to mind when you listen to this song is: Mission impossible. Though the piano makes it all different. It gives it more of a Latin sounding foreground. It combines everything nicely, though it sounds like something that would be used in scenes where people are spying on others still. At a sudden moment this song even reminds me off Pokémon! Not that that's a bad thing at all. This song is quite busy though, lots of different tunes are going on at the same time, but that's the charm of this song.
Quite a good song now that I listen it again, I didn't listen to it much though, but it's growing on me

11. AOE Suite Third Movement:
i9
Very relaxed, a slice-of-life song in my opinion. The guitar is very nice, along with the synth and the voices. It's pretty calming, until the second half of the song, where it gets more quick and up-beat. This transition is very nice too, you think the song is finished before. And then it gains so much speed.
This is a song I like to listen to when I'm outside, it really gives the world a different view.

12. AOE Suite Fourth Movement:
AI
This is one of the first songs I listened to on this album. It's calming and beautiful, like a lullaby. It's probably because it's a music box-like song. This song is used for the more tender moments in the anime if I recall correctly, and it's doing its job pretty well. It's too bad this is the shortest song of the entire album though.
The only thing that bothers me about this song is the length of it. I love it. It inspires me so much.

13. Symphonic Poem GeHeNa First Movement:
Mephistopheles
This is Mephisto's theme, if the name didn't imply anything else. It's very calm and eerie in the beginning, mysterious too. Just like our favorite fabulous demon. After a while it gains some volume and tempo though. It sounds pretty Indian, with all the instruments that have been used. It's a likable song, very, VERY nice. Pretty sure that every big Mephisto fan adores this song, and is happy that it's so long. It fits the character very well though.
I like this song too, it's so different from the rest of the OST. Maybe that's just because this song is connected to Mephisto, who knows??

14. Symphonic Poem GeHeNa Second Movement:
A-maimon
Very obviously Amaimon's theme, it's starts of very dark, and intense. This is probably the most intense song of the album, the guitars imply something  dangerous is approaching. Even if this doesn't quite fit with how Amaimon behaves most of the time, it fits quite well when he gets serious. This song is has quite the build-up for the climax of the song around the 2-minute mark. The violins make this song more pleading actually. After that it goes right back to dark after that moment though.
I love this song. At first I was 'Meh' around this song, but it grew on me so much, I couldn't stop listening after a while. The guitars are enormously awesome.

15. Symphonic Poem GeHeNa Third Movement:
Hobgoblin→MASHOU
The longest song of the album. It sounds quite outlandish with the instruments that are used. A big part of the first half is used for build-up. The second half goes right to build-up again. This isn't a song that really is meant to listen to in full, it's a real atmosphere based song. The last part of the song is beautiful though, it sends shivers down your spine, it's that nice.
I think the build-up takes too long, but the climax of it is beautiful.

16. Assiah Fantasia First Movement:
Call me later
The second song with English lyrics. It's beautiful… It really is. The music is calming, the voice is too. And if you know the lyrics, it's even more beautiful. The lyrics are not used in the anime though… there  it's the instrumental (which I'd love to have as well) This is one of those songs you will find yourself humming/singing when you're deep in thought.
I love this song, it's my favorite song with real lyrics. I can listen  to it endlessly.

17. Assiah Fantasia Second Movement:
Tomorrow is another day
This song is beautiful… I can't describe it any other way. It is a very good song for invoking emotion. It really captures a good portion of the happy moments in the manga/anime. It also has a 'we have to move on' feeling to me. And 'Look at the good moments instead of the bad'.
This song reminds me of beautiful movie soundtracks from older animated movies, and that is SUCH a good thing. I should listen more to this one as well.

18. Assiah Fantasia Third Movement:
die Himmlische Musik
The last song of the album, and the second song with German lyrics. A very pretty, calming choir song. It's soothing to the mind and body, it really is. The voices are so beautiful and the bells too. There really isn't much that I can state else way about this song. It really is one you have to hear for yourself.
If it weren't for me being an atheist, this would be a blessing for me. Beautiful….

That was everything on the songs individually, as a general opinion on this album: I love it, I absolutely do. Even if you don't like the anime, or don't even know it, I recommend you listen to it.

I don't give ratings, but if you would really WANT one 10/10, of course!

Lyrics for the songs!

Me & Creed
You've heard that sound
Just from the ground
How long they've been in here
You've found the proof
That was the truth
Your daddy's face is on the way
People look into my face
I don't care about it
You've found out
How you were born
They scare me

Disguise is not a word on my page
And I must be stronger than days before

It's time for me
My sword and flame protect you
Just you can see the fire
We're flying in the sky
No one blames you, No!
Forget your self abuse
Now we have grown and fast
Another chance to grasp the earth

Someday we'll rest in peace
I say it's not for real
One day it's gonna be
Between me and creed
Between me and creed

eXORCIST
die Sonne
der Mond
die Sterne
Sie werfen Licht auf die Welt

en Dunkel lädt mich zur anderen Welt ein
en Dunkel lädt mich zur Verdorbenheit ein

es ist schön, verdächtig und grässlich

Zweifel is eine Pforte
die geht zum wertlosen Eden
Zeifel ist en Zugang
der geht zum schönen Eden

starker Glaube ist ein dorniger Weg
mit einem Lichtschwert

dubios
Engel oder Teufel
ominös
Guttat oder böse Tat

blaues Licht
scheid das tiefe Dunkel durch
scheid den dornigen Weg auf
blaues Feuer
verbrenne vollständig die andere Welt

Call me Later
In the middle of night (And you follow the light)
I was far from the fight
They freely pass me by

Then I'm totally out of space and seeking my friends
Is there anyone who needs me?

I hear what you say
There's the tiniest hope
You can change yourself
If you want to
Then you find the door
We can walk from the past
I was a frog in well

Smile like you've never done
I'm so fine
Then you hold me tight under bad weather
If you understand why
I was crying on river so
Dwell on my self
All the time

Die Himmlische Musik
Das Flüstern des Engels
wie ein Hauch
das Flüstern des Winds
wie das Wort Gottes

jeder stösst einen Seufzer aus
der Himmel ist schön wie ein Deekengemälde
jeder schliesst die Augen still
